Give something away – receive nothing in return! – Be happy!
Time and place: Saturday 5.30 pm in the Common Room.
You know those unwanted board- and roleplaying games taking up space on your shelves? Those games you’ll never play, either because you’ve grown out of them, or because you never really liked them that much?
You could of course put them up for sale on eBay, but that takes time, and to throw out a game is an absolute taboo.
Fear not – your salvation lies at Fastaval. It’s time to clean house!
“The Fastaval Re-Allocation Project” is springs from the belief that all games eventually die if you allow them to lie in their boxes, or leave them on the shelf with pristine pages. Set your game free, clean up your adventures, and pass them on to others. It’s pure win-win!
OK, I’M SO ON! IT’S A CRAZY IDEA, BUT I WANT TO BE IN. HOW DO I DO THIS?
- Bring whatever you want to donate with you to Fastaval: Board games, role playing games and other nerdy items (no…not furniture, hand blenders and other strange stuff – only geeky things please).
- Drop it off at the board game café, get a sticker in it with your name, kiss the game goodbye and wish it all the best on its journey ahead.
WHAT DO I GET BACK?
Absolutely nothing. And then again – you get to:
make another human being incredibly happy – games you might think are crap might still be another person’s favourite game
watch your game really live again, instead of simply gathering dust on your shelf and basically just being in the way of new adventures
reclaim your shelf space. And fill it with new wonderful games to play
WHO GETS THE GAMES?
All games are gathered at the board game café at Fastaval 2016 and handed out at the scheduled time in the Common Area.
The games are handed out by drawing of lots among those present. Don’t worry, the games will be distributed evenly – it is no lottery – we are trying to get enough for everybody.
Everyone can participate: poor, rich, game-donor or not.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW?
Yes. If you receive a game through the Re-allocation project, you can NEVER resell it for money. You can give it away (if it wasn’t something for you after all or if you want to please others) or donate it to a tournament (as long as the tournament is not too serious)
Spread the joy!
