Vi har modtaget følgende pressemeddelelse fra The Society for Nordic Roleplaying:
Collection of Fastaval scenarios to be published in Finnish
In 2010, another landmark in the Pan-Scandinavian exchange of roleplaying ideas will be reached when The Society for Nordic Roleplaying publishes a collection of Fastaval scenarios in Finnish.
The Nordic countries are at the vanguard of global roleplaying culture, broadening the horizons of what can be done with the roleplaying medium. In Denmark, this is most explicitly expressed in the range of world-class scenarios written every year for the Fastaval convention.
“Fastaval is a unique event in the roleplaying world. A hotbed of creativity with a scenario writing competition that facilitates some of the most innovative, cutting-edge roleplaying games in the world. Up until now, Finnish players and game designers have only heard of these games through hearsay, but now it will become possible for them to experience and analyze the games first-hand, opening new, exciting opportunities for networking and sharing ideas and techniques across Scandinavia,” says Juhana Pettersson, who will be lead editor on the book.
Pettersson will be supported by co-editors Tobias Wrigstad and Kristoffer Apollo, both of whom are long-time Fastaval participants and contributors. First and foremost, they have the difficult responsibility of selecting which scenarios to include in the book, which is expected to be approximately 300 pages in volume.
It is the stated objective of the project that the Fastaval book shall reflect the state-of-the-art of Fastaval scenarios, while also highlighting the impressive variety of roleplaying styles and techniques exhibited at the convention.
The Fastaval book is a non-profit enterprise made possible by a generous grant from the Kulturkontakt Nord fund. The funding will be directed towards translation, printing and marketing of the book, with the aim of reaching as many Finnish roleplayers as possible.
